Once more extending outside the realm of video games, this time as a live-action Netflix series, is Resident Evil.

Resident Evil on Netflix expands on the canon of the Capcom video game franchise while highlighting series mainstay Albert Wesker. It is produced by Constantin Film, the company behind Milla Jovovich's six RE movies.

The end result, according to our Resident Evil: Season 1 review, "superb acting paired with an engaging plot that somehow fits into this ever-growing and wildly complicated timeline," is sure to please ardent RE fans.

The 2022 (the year of the global T-virus pandemic) and 2036 timelines are used in the live-action Resident Evil franchise (14 years later).

The Netflix official summary is as follows: Jade Wesker fights for survival in a world overrun by the blood-thirsty infected and insane creatures.

In this absolute carnage, Jade is haunted by her past in New Raccoon City, by her father’s chilling connections to the Umbrella Corporation but mostly by what happened to her sister, Billie.
