What is there in the iPhone 16?
With a boatload of new additions, like Apple Intelligence and a dedicated Camera ‘Button’, the company (Apple) has finally brought to light the iPhone 16 as the base model among other devices in the iPhone lineup.
Interestingly, Tim Cook (Timothy Donald Cook), the CEO of Apple, said at the ‘It’s Glowtime’ event on Monday that the iPhone 16 will surely change things and ‘raise the bar’ to a whole new level.
The launch event was held on Monday (September 9) where the whole 16 lineup was introduced to the world. It was also a spot where discussions about the upgrades and how Apple Intelligence would change things for the company were held.
There, it was revealed that the pre-order time will begin on September 13 and iPhone 16 will reach in-store from September 20 this year.
The most looked-forward-to things in the iPhone 16 include new AI technology and a camera ‘button’ that can be used to adjust things according to the user’s convenience.
People have high expectations with these new features and their belief has been further raised because of the confident statements the CEO gave in the ‘Glowtime’ event.
However, the Apple Intelligence simply won’t pop up on iPhone 16. As Craig Federighi (Apple’s Vice President) stated, its inclusion would happen as part of the iOS 18.1 update, which might arrive in Beta in October.
Like other AI tools in the market, Apple Intelligence is an ‘Apple approach’ that is going to be added to all their upcoming devices (including some previous ones as well). This AI feature will cool down the process of text and image creation, and work very closely with ‘Siri’, the old-time digital assistant on iPhone, to improve user experience and make things easy at the same time.
Regarding its availability, Apple Intelligence is confirmed to run in all the latest iPhone 16 lineup. However, users have to wait until the 18.1 iOS update arrives. Furthermore, specific previous iPhone 15 models (only Pro ones) will get access to Apple Intelligence because others, in simple terms, lack chipset compatibility.
Another addition that presumably ‘raises the bar’ of iPhone devices is the camera button that is designed to ease camera access and its settings.
Located just below the power button, the camera control button will help users access, click photos, and make videos quite easily using just one finger. Furthermore, there are multiple gestures that come with the new camera button on iPhone 16 that include the following –
Although this feature is not going to be launched alongside the iPhone 16, the company claims to provide it as a free-to-download software update later this year.
Now, speaking about its functionality. It basically works like Google Lens and helps people learn and explore information about something by using the camera. All they need to do is open their camera, point it to the thing they want the description of, and everything will automatically pop up on their screen within seconds.
Apple is planning to connect the visual intelligence thing with the camera control button (Camera control). This is to ease the process of accessing it thereby making things smoother for anyone who uses it.

So basically, it is made for everyone and the color variety shows that quite clearly. And, since Apple has always tried to surpass the ‘user-oriented’ concept and come up with minimal things that are automatically loved by people, releasing so many color options means making the device available for all types of people.
Obviously, Apple developers are not mind readers. They do not know which color you would like. So they have decided to come up with various options to reach out to the maximum number of people and attract them.
The A-18 chip introduced in the iPhone 16 offers not only better overall performance but also boosts up the system regarding gaming, using heavy-duty applications, etc.
When users engage in high-graphic games, they will easily notice the FPS (Frame Per Second) improvement. It is definitely there in devices having the A-18 chipset. In a numerical way, it can be said that the gaming experience goes up by 40% because of the 5-core GPU that is there in the device.
Also, as said by Tim Cook, the new launch will ‘raise the standard’ of Apple devices, it can be added that the A-18 chip along with the 16-core Neural Engine improves things with machine learning compared to devices having the A-16 chip.
So, there is a slight improvement in the display of the iPhone 16 (2556*1179 pixels) as it is better than the iPhone 14’s resolution (2532*1170). And even though the difference is quite minimal, it makes a huge difference when compared carefully.
Obviously, when users play or work on their devices, it is these things that create the most difference and we are happy Apple has improved on that a bit.
Furthermore, the brightness is also much better than in earlier devices thereby making it easier to view the screen in direct sunlight.
Although there is a lot of discussion regarding the upgrades in the new Apple devices (including the iPhone 16), only when users take charge of it will the company hear what people have to say about it.
In terms of Apple Intelligence, hopefully, things will become better and users will love the shift from only using Siri as their digital assistant to a much-iterated and advanced AI model. The Apple team has even mentioned that they will have a chit-chat with Google Gemini developers. They will learn more about machine learning and artificial intelligence technology so as to further solidify the Apple Intelligence program and make it one of the best.
