How to Connect Bluetooth to PC?

Although the majority of PCs—and even laptops—now come with Bluetooth facilities, most of us still require Bluetooth upgrades. Well, if you are rocking a system without a Bluetooth facility, don’t fret. Keep reading as we are going to show you how to Connect Bluetooth to PC without much hassle!

Why Would You Need To Do This?

While you will be able to get by just fine without a Bluetooth facility on your device (especially if you are having a desktop) there are hundreds of accessories & peripherals that need—or would be made more convenient by—Bluetooth.

You could, for instance, run an auxiliary audio cable from your device or PC to any of the Bluetooth speakers, however, it would make your speaker pretty more convenient as well as portable to pipe in the music over Bluetooth therefore, you would retain the capability to move it anywhere in your home or office. Bluetooth is also pretty convenient & handy while using Bluetooth trackers, keyboards, wireless headsets, mice, game controllers, & other peripherals.

Verify If Your Device Already Has Bluetooth

Before we move, we’d motivate you to give your device a double check for Bluetooth radios. If you’ve an outdated computer or laptop, you’re likely correct in assuming that you do not have Bluetooth built-in. But, if you’ve a newer PC, however, it’s practically a given that you’ve Bluetooth. Likewise, it used to be a non-existent attribute on desktop PCs, however, in the last few years a surprising number of devices have started shipping with Bluetooth radios.

This is pretty easy and straightforward to check for evidence of Bluetooth in Windows. Well, you can easily check for Bluetooth by navigating to the Control Panel > then locate and select the Network and Internet > Choose Network Connections. So, if there is a properly installed & configured Bluetooth radio, you will find an entry for the “Bluetooth Network Connection” along with other network connections as in Wi-Fi & Ethernet.

On the other hand, you can also go towards the Device Manager—to do this select the Start button & check for “device manager”—& afterwards look for a “Bluetooth” entry. Once you are done with these instructions, device Manager will display you if your device has a Bluetooth facility, even if it’s not correctly set up.

We also suggest double-checking the stats on your device just to be confirmed. Although unlikely, it is possible that the hardware vendor behind your hardware utilizes a specialty driver or certain tool that you require to download for enabling the Bluetooth connection. A simple poking around with Google will reveal if you’ve the hardware in the first place & if you require BIOS, any special driver, or other updates.

Add Bluetooth to Your PC

If you’ve located that your device doesn’t have Bluetooth built in, make sure to add it. The most exciting news is that it’s simple and straightforward to do & you do not need to spend much on it.

1.   Purchase What You’ll Require

You do not require a whole lot to follow along with our guide. When you have determined that your device is definitely in need of a Bluetooth radio (& not just the driver update), then this is the best time to check that you’ve a free USB port. But in case you don’t, & there’s no making room since you require all your current ports, you must consider getting a quality USB expansion card or a USB hub.

But, with the free USB port in hand, another thing you require is a USB Bluetooth adapter..

There are a number of ways to approach the problem; however the majority of them are pretty impractical. You can, for example, use up your device’s mini PCI slot with a laptop Wi-Fi or Bluetooth module; however, that’s a lot of hassle. Another good reason you may want to head over to the mini PCI route is if you do not want to give up a USB port on a device & don’t want tocarry around a USB hub.

And when it comes to the desktop side, the only reason we can find for not utilizing the USB-based solution is if you are explicitly in the market for a Wi-Fi PCI card, as the majority of the Wi-Fi PCI cards come with Bluetooth built in.

2. Install the Bluetooth Dongle

So, if you are going to install the Kinivo on the Windows device, the whole method is dead simple: simply plug it in. Windows incorporates the basic Broadcom Bluetooth drivers needed by the dongle & will automatically install them when it identifies the new device.

And if you are installing it on any outdated version of Windows, you will require installing the Bluetooth drivers.

Without further hassle, download the drivers

Make sure you download the driver that will be compatible with your OS.

3: Pair Your Devices

Once the dongle is installed, you are ready to pair a device.

After inserting the dongle along with the proper drivers installed, a Bluetooth icon comes up in the system tray. Once you find the icon in the system screen, simply right tap on the icon & try to locate & select the “Add a Bluetooth Device” option from the appeared menu.

And, if you are using Windows 8 or Windows 10, then you will find a new window that comes up automatically. In this new window, just choose the “Pair” button for the device you desire to connect.

And in case of Windows 7—or any kind of previous variant—you will find a screen where you will find a number of options. Simply choose the device you desire to connect & then press the “Next” button.

Once you are done with all these instructions, Windows will automatically communicate with the device as it automatically completes the pairing process. And now your device is available for use!

Well, you can easily manage the Bluetooth devices by heading over the Bluetooth menu through the system tray. On the other hand, you can also navigate to the Control Panel -> locate and select the All Control Panel Items -> from the menu, choose the Devices and Printers. Well, either way, you must be able to find & even interact with both your Bluetooth dongle & any other attached Bluetooth devices.
