Google’s New Translation Features | What You Can Expect

Sometimes, you may get into difficulties while going to other locations or countries due to the language barrier. It is not possible to understand things such as food items, roads, places, addresses if you don’t know the languages. Hence, you require an interpreter for translating the languages so it would be easier for you.

Fortunately, Google introduced some new translation features to resolve your language problems. So, it will not matter wherever you travel in the world, as you can easily understand the languages with the help of Google.

Google Translating Features

Recently Google has introduced three new translation features to overcome the language barrier and for transcribing the languages. So, you can understand the languages and perform your tasks accordingly.

Hence, let’s get into the details of some new translation features introduced by Google and its utilities.

Interpreter Mode In Google Assistant

Google Assistant is a virtual assistant from Google developers and it is based on Artificial Intelligence. But, after Google introduces new translation features, Google Assistant now includes an interpreter mode. So, the interpreter makes it easier for users to overcome language barriers.

You can use this Google Assistant interpreter on your Android devices or iOS phones. This interpreter mode can translate up to 44 languages across the world and you can use it in two ways.

You can type the required words on your Android keyboard for translating the languages. Alternatively, you can speak and choose your language for interpreting it.

Moreover, you can use the Google Assistant interpreter mode for speaking with bilingual employees as well.

For example, if you are talking to a German representative, first, you need to choose the interpreter mode on Google Pixel 4. Now, you need to speak the command “be my German interpreter” and the device will be set.

Then you will get the interpretation of your English conversion into German. In this way, when the German representative speaks something, you will get it in English. You just need to practice when to press the button for interpreting the languages.

But, make sure you speak slowly and clearly so the device understands the language and translates it. If the conversation between you and the German representative goes well, then you may get a good interpretation.

Google Maps Translation Button

Google has introduced new translation features and the Google Maps translation button is one of them. With this feature, Google Maps will provide you a visual guide and proper navigation support consequently.

Google introduced a translation button on Google Maps so it can translate the given language. If you are looking for a local place or specific address, the translation button will provide you the details in the local language.

You can also get the list of the local restaurants as Google Maps will show you the names after translating it.

Recently, it has been reported that Google Maps can translate up to 50 languages. Also, you can get the new translation feature by navigating to the speaker button. You will find it beside the address or name bar where you need to type the details

Once you tap the speaker button, Google Maps will say something loudly. Then you need to name the destination or something else such as restaurant names, places or addresses to get it translated.

Google Lens Translation

Google Lens is the third translating feature developed by Google to translate languages.  As a new translation feature, Google Lens uses image recognition technology for translating the languages. Approximately, you can translate 100 languages via scanning, searching, and identifying the languages.

For example, if you look for German sausages, Google Lens not only translates the name of the food but, it will show you the ingredients as well.

Google Lens will identify and detect the languages and translate them into English on top of the images. Once you practiced some setups, you can use Google Lens to translate the word into your language of preference.

You can also use this Google Lens when you are in a restaurant to understand the food items. However, you can take the help of Google Assistant to translate the languages or the food items.

As Google introduces these three new translation features, it will be easier for you to overcome the language barrier.
